Real-world environment emulation.
A route generated from map waypoints creates a virtual environment for the tested or developed units that is indistinguishable from real-world operation. Route generation is based on machine learning derived from real-world traffic measurements. The route model carries onboard bus data communication, GPS system positioning information, and route metadata.

Support for intelligent transportation system (ITS) infrastructure.
The virtual ITS back-office system and drivers for OCU, RVU, and RSU units enable the emulation of environments with intelligent transport infrastructure based on V2X (C2X or Car-to-Car) technology. We provide software development kits to support the development of V2X communication systems. The Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and the eCall client (OCU) offer testing capabilities for the eCall service.

Implementation of specialized test scenarios.
In a virtual environment, tests can be carried out that would be dangerous, uneconomical, difficult to reproduce, non-repeatable, or in violation of regulations if conducted in real-world traffic.

Eco-friendly and cost-effective solution.
Shifting tests from roads to laboratories reduces development and testing costs by minimizing the required vehicle fleet size, saving test mileage, and eliminating tester hours spent on unproductive activities (e.g., traveling to a location where the test can be performed).

Systems for data collection and validation during driving.
Recording devices for vehicles enable storing driving data on local storage or, after filtering and compression, sending it to cloud storage for further processing. These recording devices are based on PC architecture and feature power management for operation on the vehicle’s onboard electrical system.

VirtualConvoy is a toolkit for testing cooperative intelligent transportation systems (C-ITS) that can be integrated into the Testera software. It offers tools for creating a virtual backoffice center for the C-ITS system, drivers for OCU, RVU, and RSU units, and virtual route generators. Testera provides related services for end-to-end and component testing.

The system enables testing of emergency scenarios linked to eCall technology. The system can be used to emulate a traffic accident, test connections via the eCall system, check and analyze incoming data transmitted by the OCU unit, and validate voice connections.
