Use cases

LIN Communication Monitoring

Using the LIN Viewer software tool, the LIN Guru Lite device allows you to monitor signal values on the LIN bus and convert them into an easily readable format. The display can be configured as a simple numeric readout, binary indicator, gauge, time-based graph, histogram, or a custom display element developed specifically for your needs.

Replacement of ECUs during communication development

During development, it is often necessary to emulate a hardware unit—either because the unit has not yet been developed or because it is difficult to bring it into a specific state. LIN Guru Lite offers a way to emulate Slave, Master, and Scheduler units. The operating mode of the LIN Guru Lite device is configured using the Oakrey Hardware Manager shared driver application.

Simulation

With the use of the Tester or uTester software tools, the LIN Guru Lite converter can be used for dynamic simulation of units on the LIN bus.

Simulations can also be created using custom software that connects to the converter via the provided library. For easier implementation, a simple SDK is included with the library.

Through its available software tools, LIN Guru Lite provides a comprehensive solution to support the development of sensors, ECUs, and other devices that communicate via the LIN bus.

Supported tools

Oakrey Hardware Manager

A system that integrates drivers for hardware supplied by Oakrey. It offers device status monitoring, configuration, and firmware updates.

LIN Viewer

An application for monitoring communication on the LIN bus. This application displays bus data on a clear, user-configurable dashboard.

LDF Browser

An application for creating and browsing files in the LIN Description File (LDF) format.
