CAN Viewer

Software for analysis, recording, and monitoring of signal values on the CAN bus based on CAN Database (DBC) files.

Key features

Display of signal values using graphical indicators, including charts and histograms.

Multi-channel CAN bus communication recording.

Advanced search and filtering of messages and signals.

Clarity, modern interface, user-friendliness, updates, and quick responsiveness to customer needs.

Use cases

Signal value monitoring

The software decodes CAN bus messages based on a DBC file into messages and their contained signals. It then converts these into a user-readable format and displays them on a simple slider. A short history log of the communication is also shown.

Selected values can be added to a display called a dashboard to improve the readability of the communication.

Dashboard displays can be configured as simple numeric readouts, binary indicators, gauges, time-based graphs, histograms, or we can develop custom display elements tailored to your needs.

Bus communication logging

The software allows communication to be recorded to a file, supporting multi-channel recording. This involves logging communication without decoding signal values. Each incoming message is recorded on its own line and includes: timestamp, device ID, channel, message ID, communication direction, message size, and the data itself.

Communication validation during development

During the development of ECU units, sensors, and other devices, CAN Viewer can be used for validation of communication based on known CAN Database (DBC) files.

The display allows you to see the presence of messages on the bus, signal values including their translation into logical states, and changes in signal values over time.

Diagnostics and service

By connecting to the CAN bus, you can monitor the internal states of devices and diagnose potential abnormalities and faults.

Diagnostics can be performed both by monitoring signal values in real time and by studying recorded data, which can be continuously replayed. This allows you to analyze the causes of problematic behavior for as long as needed until the issue is resolved.

Test setups and systems

CAN Viewer can be used as an auxiliary display during the execution of test scenarios on devices or test setups.

The clear dashboard provides technicians or testers with immediate insight into the system status through visually presented signal values.

Supported hardware

Two-channel CAN to USB bus converter with support for CAN FD standard.

BusKit

Device for logging CAN, LIN, Ethernet 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1 buses on board the vehicle.

Third party devices
